Winding Hill Show Team

Bringing Our Students Together With Common Goals To Create Lasting Friendships And Better Horsemanship

The show team allows our students to gain more experience in the ring, build confidence, learn where improvements can be made, and move them up to the next level all while in the company of their peers. Riders get to compete at individual shows or strive to be high point rider for an entire show series. There are options to compete out of state, as well as scholarship opportunities. Team members will practice proper horse care at home and away shows. You do not need to own your own horse, however, leases and reserve-a-horse options are available for consistency. We insist our riders demonstrate sportsmanship in the barn, in the ring, and at shows. The horses, trainers, judges, rules, opponents, and teammates all deserve respect. Sportsmanlike competitors recognize and appreciate a well prepared, challenging opponent who can bring out the best in them. All riders should be recognized for their hard work and dedication rather than only focusing on winning a blue ribbon. Judges often go through very rigorous training programs and know the rulebook well. They should be appreciated for their attention and deliberation. Our horses take very good care of us and their love needs to be reciprocated; if it was not for them, we wouldn’t be able to enjoy this sport! Most of all our team is built on safety, fun, and friendship!
