You do not need previous riding experience to start at Winding Hill Stables. If you rode as a child and want to come back, tell us what you remember and what you want to work toward. Private instruction gives you room to ask questions, build confidence, and develop your skills at a pace that fits your experience.
A lesson built around your experience
Beginners work on balance, position, and control. Returning and experienced riders can develop their flatwork, jumping, and equitation. Our program includes experienced school horses and ponies. Discuss your goals and any concerns before booking so we can talk through the appropriate starting point.
Scheduling around your week
Private lessons last 30 minutes and are offered in three-lesson introductory and five-lesson packages. Contact us for current times and pricing. Our lighted outdoor arena supports after-work riding, subject to scheduling and weather. Confirm the current winter location with us.
Plan your first visit
Our barn is at 386 Bread and Cheese Hollow Road in Northport, serving Fort Salonga and nearby Long Island communities. Visits are by appointment. You will need paddock boots with a small heel, fitted long pants, and a certified riding helmet. See lesson packages and preparation details.
