Winding Hill Stables welcomes children from age four for private riding lessons in Northport, Long Island. One-on-one instruction helps young riders work on balance, position, and horse-handling skills. Tell us your child’s age and experience, whether this will be their first ride or the next step in an existing riding program.
From a first ride to new goals
Experienced school horses and ponies support our lesson program. Instruction meets the child’s current ability, with hunter, jumper, and equitation work for riders who are ready. Families interested in showing can discuss preparation and coaching with us; the next step depends on the rider’s progress and goals.
Lesson packages for families
Each lesson is private and 30 minutes long. We offer three-lesson introductory and five-lesson packages rather than single lessons. Contact us for pricing and scheduling. Share your preferred days when you inquire. The outdoor arena has lighting for after-school riding; weather and winter arrangements should be confirmed before booking.
